Welcome to The Pomodoro! We are The Franks. Here's a little bit about our story.

We both grew up in the Rockford area, and are so proud to own a small business here. We have three children, and consider our staff to be part of our big family. We were both managers at restaurants in Rockford, and this industry is something we are truly passionate about. We even met at a local restaurant in town!

A while back (about five years ago), We decided to stop in for a date night and were approached about the purchase of this place. Were we ready? Absolutely not. Was it always a big dream of ours? Absolutely. We mentioned to each other that we could make this work. Three days later Scott came home, mentioned he quit his job that day and we were purchasing the restaurant. Um... What?! From that next day on, we dove head first into owning our own business.

Fast forward about 9 months to when COVID hit the country. For the next 11 months, we focused on curbside pick-up and how we can make our business come out alive on the other side. We introduced $1 bottles of wine with the purchase of two entrees (which we will still do for carryout!), our Sunday Funday Parking Lot Parties (during the summer), and even opened up our second business just a few doors down Riverside: Baked Wings for carry-out and delivery (visit baked-wings.com). 

When the light at the end of the tunnel peeked through, we decided to go forward with our idea of a rebrand and remodel. Without COVID, we would not have been able to bring you to The Pomodoro experience. We are truly blessed and forever grateful for the help and support we received through the tough times.

At The Pomodoro, we focus on pasta, seafood, steaks, as well as The Pomodoro Style pizza. We have dreamt about this restaurant for a long time and are thrilled to say, "Welcome to The Pomodoro!"
